Pot Luck Dinner

Not only have I been slacking in the creative department lately, I also seem to have misplaced my sense of humor. I have searched high and low for it, even going to barely used corners of the house, and all I have found is is a cough and a sneeze (it’s a bit dusty in those corners). Now that next week’s 100 Word Challenge for Grownups is almost upon us, I figured I would maybe actually do one again for a change. I wanted to go back to humorous (if in fact I can claim any are), but since my sense of humor has vacated the premises I will just have to make do. The prompt from monday past:

… and winter will bring …

Here goes …

Mother Nature’s semi-annual pot luck is coming up soon. We’re looking for sign ups for the various dishes. Mother was disappointed last time because we were so disorganized and nobody committed. So we’re getting folk to sign up earlier this time. And no everybody can’t do desserts. I will take care of the paper goods (you know how poorly I cook). So far there are only two names listed. Spring will bring the salad, and Winter will bring sherbert for dessert. Come on guys! You know how Mother can be when she is down! Let’s all jump on board now!

  1. You know, when I see posts like this, I think, “Wouldn’t it be great to leave a one hundred word comment?” But then I wonder what the heck I’m going to talk about for that long. It might not sound like it’s all that long, but have you ever had a hundred bucks? That’s a lot of money! Now try to imagine if you have a hundred cars. Or a hundred giraffes. Where would you keep them all, for cryin’ out loud? Do you see what I mean about a hundred words? I’m not even going to try. Why bother?

    • The threat of winter does that I guess. I haven’t taken a peak at the others yet. Didn’t want to find myself borrowing an idea haha. Glad you enjoyed again 😀

  2. Love your take, all the seasonal changes were starting to wear me down.
I think we can take it as read that Fall will provide the decorations and Summer the BBQ, no?
